Sales
Engineer for CNC Machining
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Blue
Grass Manufacturing is a 45 year plus contract
manufacturer. Our processes include machining,
welding, assembly, fulfillment, amongst others.
This
position is responsible for responding to customer
request for quote (RFQ)'s by providing timely cost
proposals and other data necessary to satisfy the
customer. Must be able to manage customer
expectations and adhere to strict timelines. Work
with other internal personnel to develop the most
accurate and complete cost proposal possible.
Provide Financial Analysis / Negotiation support.
Provide Support to Customer requests and any audit
activity requested. Requires meeting short
deadlines and orchestrating many financial
variables at once. Perform "quote"
"no quote" process for RFQ received
insuring all requests are responded to in a timely
manner.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
Must
be proficient in performing the following
combination of duties
Analyze
drawings and estimate labor hours required to
manufacture part.
Prepare indentured and consolidated
bills-of-material (BOM's), and get quoted vendor
costs for those materials to support the cost
proposal
Determine tool string, materials and hours
necessary to build the tools that will be use to
manufacture parts.
Prepare cost summaries for all of the above
activities and prepare a clear cost proposal for
approval and submission to the customer.
Complete the proposal package which includes all
the supporting data to used to determine the cost
of the project or job
Keep a status of all quotes in process until a
win, loss or re-quote has been determined
Must be extremely well-organized and able to
consistently meet stringent deadlines while
working with minimal supervision and sometimes
minimal information.
Must be able to complete tasks in a dynamic work
environment
Must have supervised production and been
successful at it and likes it.
Machine
maintenance skills
Sales
experience in the field with proof of success.
Mostly
experience in companies with restricted budgets so
he has had to think out the best process
solutions.
Purchased
capital equipment and done economic
justifications.
Good
teacher
Mature
Requirements
MUST HAVE ESTIMATING EXPERIENCE.
15
years of combined experience in Machining of high
volume parts from steel, castings, and forgings.
Ability
to operate and program CNC vertical Mills
Ability
to operate and program CNC horizontal mills
Ability
to operate Manual milling machines
Ability
to operate and program CNC Swiss type screw
machines
Ability
to operate Rotary transfer machines such as
Hydromats or Kingsburys
Broaching
CNC
fixture design and manufacture
Experience
developing high volume manufacturing processes
including their quality plans.
General
knowledge with the procedures for estimating the
manufacturing and development of costs for
structures and components utilizing various
materials.
Knowledge
of various types of manufacturing processes are
essential.
Applicants must be able to handle multiple
projects in a fast paced environment to meet
weekly management and customer requirements.
Excellent communication, writing and computer
spreadsheet skills are required.
Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
Desired Requirements:
Degree
in Marketing or business, Masters is preferable.
Participation in a quality certification such as
ISO 9000/2000 QS 9000 or TS16949.
A six sigma black belt would be a plus.
Physical
Demands/Working Conditions/Environment:
This
position includes both a office and work shop
working environment
Some
travel will be required.
Thorough
knowledge manufacturing processes.
