Custom CNC Milling & Packaging Services of Heavy Duty Bearing Housings

At Blue Grass Manufacturing Co. of Lexington Inc., we can develop repair and rework processes that save customers time and money while meeting tight deadlines. We reworked the heavy duty bearing housings shown below, for a customer in the heavy equipment industry. The housings have a complex geometry with an outer diameter of 9", a length of 5", and a weight of approximately 50 lbs.

When the bearings are delivered to us, they must be reworked and milled to a surface finish of 0.5 µm Ra or better. Finished bearings are visually inspected to customer standards before repackaging. Our engineers spent 2 weeks developing a process to rework and package the carbon steel bearings with maximum efficiency. While we have an extensive list of manufacturing equipment and capabilities, it is our ability to develop custom solutions for customers that has led to our continued success.
